Attorney’s Assistant

The Attorney’s Assistant position encompasses a high volume of interaction with defendants and opposing attorneys regarding specific matters in litigation leading up to and in the aftermath of a trial hearing. The primary responsibility of an Attorney’s Assistant is to assist our attorneys with their heavy caseloads by reviewing legal documentation, writing correspondences, and responding to various motions and defendant letters. The ability to analyze case files and communicate clearly with defendants and opposing attorneys in writing and over the phone is an essential skill for all attorneys’ assistants to possess.

Paralegal

As a paralegal with Pressler & Pressler, you will be involved in every aspect of the legal process from the moment a case enters into litigation to the moment it comes to close. Within this timeline, many decisions will be made by the collection paralegal deciding the outcome of the case. It is your responsibility to determine whether or not litigation is necessary, what approach to take while in negotiations with our adversary, and when it is appropriate to settle a matter out of court. Every paralegal has a heavy caseload within the team, and each situation brings a new challenge. We are looking for someone who can think on their feet and be confident in their decisions. We need someone who can negotiate over the phone and represent our client to the utmost of their ability. Every aspect of law presents an adversarial setting; this is your chance to gain legal experience right out of college with skills that you can’t learn anywhere else.

Skip Tracer

Our Asset Location department is designed to gather information about our defendants through a variety of means such as analyzing credit reports, case files, and online databases. They use their analytical skills to retrieve information that our paralegals were unable to obtain from the defendant themselves. To succeed as a skip tracer, you have to have an eye for detail, constantly delving deeper into each situation as it arises. As a skip tracer it is necessary to be critical of the information you come across: one source may be correct and the other incorrect. The most efficient skip tracers find a way to locate people, assets, and other pertinent information that would otherwise remain undiscovered.

Court Officer Liaison

Our Court Officer department is in charge of maintaining a relationship with the officers of the court system. In our office, there are inevitably a large portion of cases that reach a stage where the only course of action is to employ the use of legal remedies in order to resolve the matter. For this reason, it is important that we have intelligent and diligent employees working these cases. Not only will you become an expert in civil court procedures, but you will gain experience working in a professional legal setting with court officers, clerks, and attorneys. To be a successful liaison, you need to be highly organized and confident in your decisions regarding each and every case that crosses your desk.
